
AMD has announced the launch of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances that are powered by 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors. The next generation Amazon EC2 M7a instances are in the preview phase and can deliver a 50% increase in compute performance compared to the M6a instances. These processor capabilities bring enhanced cloud technology that enables AWS customers to broaden their range of workloads. AMD already provides more than 100 EPYC processor-based instances for general purpose, memory optimised, compute optimised and high-performance computing workloads to AWS.
