IT company Airmeet lays off 30% of workforce; reasons that CEO's email to employees gives for job cuts

Airmeet, an Indian online meeting and event hosting startup, has laid off around 30% of its workforce, impacting departments including sales, marketing, tech and operations. The Bangalore-based company recently raised $35m in Series B funding from Prosus Ventures and Sistema Asia Fund. Airmeet CEO Lalit Mangal cited reduced marketing budgets and commoditisation of the virtual event category as driving the decision.
